Zoe Media Server - Getting Started
It takes less than 5 minutes to set up Zoe Media Server with ETC Eos.
Want proof? I created this (very short) video to illustrate how easy it is to configure Zoe and start controlling your stage projections directly from your lighting desk.
Video isn't my preferred format to be honest, but I recognise that sometimes a simple demonstration is worth 1000 words.
Keep in mind that Zoe is an extremely lightweight media server, designed to control a single projector or led wall from your lighting console - for example to provide a ‘digital backdrop’ to a stage show.
It is not, and has never intended to be, an alternative to complex media servers like disguise, hippotizer, media master or similar. If you’re looking for projection mapping, multiple screens and complicated transformation tools this is not the tool for you. But, if you’re a community theatre wanting some projected backdrops in your show, it’s probably perfect...
In this brief demonstration we start from nothing;
- Install Zoe (well, open it, there is no installation)
- Import media (drag it into the Library)
- Patch Eos (ETCnomad)
- Start controlling your media from Eos
- Demonstrate colour controls and other transformations
